My love it has been many years
We shared the joys of jasmine and heart
And your last journey took you to that place
I can not go, until I too pass the veil
And again find your hand to clasp.

I am old now.
The grey in my hair like the snow
We played in on the second trip to Cathay
Where you found that little box so carefully carved
With the figures of lovers entwined
And giggled to me that you must have it
For it reminded you of us.

I have again found camel drivers
And laid stores for a journey to begin.
This time, alone
But I have slept in my wine too long now
And though I am soft of flesh and weak
Still from the broken heart
I must go.

I must go and look for your smile
In the roses along the hills where your family lived
And we courted so many season before now.

I would see again the plains of our tents
And feel the heat of days blister this old leather
Enduring the nights without the solace of your touch
So that I might remember once more
How far you took me into your soul
And how the bitter rip of us in your death
Was lessened by the caress of our times

Remembered

I shall not return, My Love,
This my last journey will begin today
And end when I am again with you
Somewhere beyond the moon’s glow
And inside the stars of your eyes

I say farewell to Persia
With this note penned and left for those
Who come after.

My Love…
Bid me Well

I’ll be there
Soon.

I love this side of you, Ron.
I would love to write like this, but doubt that I have ever felt this way before.

Okay, okay...you caused me to cry..
with this..the last one in the series?
So very well done poet sir!
It would appear you not only wrote this,
but lived it as well..
as we the readers, were taken there and lived it also through your words.
Amazing talent you have Ron..absolutely amazing.
This is another keeper series.
~Hugs and thank you for being you!~

Captain, had to come in and say "Bravo" to this entire series.  Beautifully written and so believable from start to finish.

Thank you for dreaming!

Did I believe I could get through this series without another tear shed?  Foolish woman I am.  I breathe many shallow breaths now as warm tears stream. Oh Ron, I shall always remember these days and nights I spent with your words.

How far you took me into your soul

and this........

I shall not return, My Love,
This my last journey will begin today
And end when I am again with you
Somewhere beyond the moon’s glow
And inside the stars of your eyes

Like someone above said, dear Ron...you have had to have felt this before to have written so well of it.
