Frozen
at the threshold
of the mirror's view

he feels
her angel eyes
smile thru,

his own melt deep
within hers now,

as he breathes her
on his burdened soul,

her eyes, disguise
his cries of pain

the badge of self-hate
he's now worn thin,

her spell upon him magical

she sees the beauty in his beast

a feast, for lovers
on the brink

of crossing thru
the other side,

she's now his treasure
locked inside,

the gift she brings
his weary life,

believing what
he's always known

the beauty in his darkened soul

but flees in fear
and wont step thru

stopped short upon
the mirrored view,

thou truly now
two hearts enthrall

he prefers her illusion
to another fall

........for a friend

I know I have done this before...

Nicely done, Michele and yes, I like the new picture, too.

Hey really great poem.  I like it alot.

I asked God how much he loved me...
He said this much...
And streched out his arms and Died.

There you are! Looking even better than ever! With my first glimpse of your new photo, I had the image of a beautiful buttercup in a field of daisies!

---"She sees the beauty in his beast"... Oh, yes! I do know what you mean!

Warm hugs,
