Horizons run before me
when I dream,
when I'm awake
my memories echo hollow
through the mirror of my thoughts,
smokey glass distorting
visions of antiquity,
bending history's light
to steal the moment's scene
for sake of honesty.

To wish is to betray;
to want is to be hurt;
to feel
to hunt
to butcher and to feed,
to barter and to plead,
defines the merchant
in us all.

Whatever we see in another is always to be seen in ourselves but, of course, we can choose what to discard and what to keep.  There's no bargain in the bartering within for the cost, whatever it is, just has to be paid.  Thank you for more good words!

Humanity has a tendency to grapple for the best deal... oftentimes sacrificing quality in the process, doesn't it?  Well said, Sir Ice...
