I was clinging to your presence
Just wanting to be near
Because the sunlight isn’t real
In a world that’s no my home.

All the trees are candy coated;
Forest green to hide the sin.
All the clouds are cotton candy;
Sulfur smoke is held within.

So I’m just yearning, clasping
Falling, gasping
Trying to seek you now
And I am hurting, crying,
Seeking, dying
Looking for my home.

I’m still looking for my home,
And the heavens hold my spotlight.
I’m bowed down before your throne
Still on the carpet of my living room.

It’s so strange and unfamiliar
Just an alien to earth
And I’m clinging to your presence
On the carpet of my living room.

- And so it was that time stood still -
     (blink, breathe, stand, fight)

Yep, that's EXACTLY how it feels... Excellent poem. And keep on looking, we're going to make it home someday!

loner,
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm good at those sad ones Thanks for replying.

Dixie,
you always do thanks.

El Campeador,
Thanks for replying. Its weird to think that this visit is really just the 'blink of an eye' but I guess in light of eternity.... its not too long.

Always, Alyssa

I just wanted to post how much I love this poem.  It spoke to me, if that makes any sense.  I've read several of your poems and this is my favorite.
