where the wild flowers grow

If I held you..
would my broken arms not mend?
I want to tell you,
about those pictures I never kept.
So many tides have swept me through
this oblivion in my mind.
I creep like a ghost in my own time,
so pale and still alive.

If I kissed you with my lips so void
and hollow,
would not my hands crumble in defeat?
To stain you with my dirty blood,
would it not be blasphemy?
As my debt I let the time slip through
my hands, like silk touching my fingertips.
Or the water of a melting snowflake slowly
numbing all I sense touch with.

I try to grasp onto my weakness,
stolen from me by a sacrificial opportunity.
Have I been so careless as to accept
my misery as a gift?
You've ruled over me with an iron fist,
and I've not once complained..
Bound by the influence of your
broken heart's hate.
