Whisper divine
sacred incarnations
into my virgin ears
enlightening my apathic
smile
to devoted pious scowl

Beat lustful thoughts
from my mind
with 10 pound holy tome
till I see my own depraved
darkness

Make me see lucifer's smirk
at every multipleplex
and bottom of every
whiskey glass

Protect me from the wold
which I live
close my eyes
so I dare not sin

So one day
pearly gates I will see
pure and unscathed
with devious piety
as my neighbors flail in pain
at hellbound eternity

Steping in freakish pride
before God
gasping stand in shock
when my name
nowhere can be found.

How can this be!!!!
I scream
as I wave my bible
misquoting scripture
falling into forever
into torment

an indictment to consider whether religious or not... our misguided beliefs are perhaps in the long run a danger to us all..

Mr. Majors,

My what you have said, I am left speechless in ponder.  So...so good!  My friend, you really did it here.  This is such a thought provoking piece of writing.

Excuse me, I am going back for another read.

Thank you. If you read the title I am sure that I am not being all inclusive of all christians. I  being one of them was merely painting yet another mural of rampant hypocrisy
