Soul Mate

Awaken my love
and behold....
The day has arrived
for our spirits
to meet again...
The day we have longed for.
Before time existed...
Before words were spoken...
As an unborn child anxiously awaiting
Birth
Our hearts have beat apart for too long.
I would see you
were I blind...
...Alas, I choose to see no other.
I live in the subconcious of your heart.
You have always been aware of my presence
And I of yours.
Our souls yearn.
Faceless becomes familiar
We are one.

Being a chronic pessimist and who is especially cynical when it comes to the subject of love and soul mates, I keep trying to condescend this in a way I usually would with poems such as this. However everytime I read it this nasty little sentimental side keeps popping up and no matter how much I push it back it keeps coming back so I guess the poem must be good lol.

Everybody hurts, take comfort in your friends, cos everybody hurts sometimes

Welcome to Passions!  This is a very nice write.  I was going to highlight my favorite verse, but as I read it over and over, I just couldn't dissect it anymore.  Overall, the message you send says the soulmates' love spans all of time.  I'm putting this in my library.

This is a very beautiful poem. I agree toatally that we do have soulmates. I'm so thankful that I finally found mine.
