You are the light that shines through the darkness,
Leading me towards your love and happiness,

Are hearts become one has I reach your touch,
And are lips met for the first time,

The dark empty space that once was,
Replaced by your ever lasting love,

I’ll give all I can give,
I’ll do all I can do,

For I love you too forever and more,
And want my light to replace your emptiness,

What I give you I know will be returned,
That is why are love is ever lasting,

I am your prince and you are my princess,
And I’ll protect you, be your knight in shining armour,

Call my name and I’ll be there with you,
If not in body, then mind and soul,

Let my love surround you like a blanket,
Protect you from what is bad,

Remember i will always be here for you,
For I was sent from the heavens just to be yours,

I really like this poem. It was good. You have expressed how love can feel very well. I know that when I fall in love I share the same sentiments as this poem has expressed. Well done! There are some grammatical errors (are...our), but the poem is still wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

This poem was a complete breath of fresh air for me after trawling through so many "teenage angst" poems, it shows a great appreciation for the special things in life. I hope you don't mind me saying one or too bits were a little bit cliched, thinking the prince and princess bit, however they certainly didn't put any kind of a dampener on a truly lovely poem.
