The trees are drunk with rain.
Their coats are woven
as hearts of clouds breakdown.
They wear the badge of martyrdom
and stand immersed in tears;
their shoulders weeping over
as the changes come around.
Colored pencils, writings on the sky,
they've numbed to the deluge upon them.
From this window seat, they bear the pain
in thoughts sent off this rainsoaked day.
With endless drops of broken dreams,
their arms will still embrace me.

Lovely thoughts...the trees bear the pain and cry the tears.

We have had so much rain here of late.  It appears it will come again today.  I will think of your lovely verse when it comes and feel the sun's ray.

Thank you,
Patricia

Down times during gray, rainy days, can sometimes have a restorative effect on us. Although we may be feeling sad and lonely, there is something quite calming on those days. They also help to make the bright days appear even brighter.

Your descriptive writing vividly captured the gray mood.

Warm hugs,

Coming from a land where it barely ceases to rain (apart from today oddly enough) I usually scorn poems glamourising the tears of the sky, however your's truly touched me, i'll never criticise the British weather again...well...until I get caught in it.

Beautiful Michele..I watch my trees soaked and bending...but the sun is shining for a moment or two today, lifting them slightly.

Colored pencils, writings on the sky,
---------------

that is one of the coolest personifications and metaphors for a tree Ive ever read...
very very cool write..
I have a thing for trees so I loved this.

No matter what the differences
No matter what the cost
When words become our weapons ...
All that's beautiful is lost.

The trees are drunk with rain.  That in it's self is a great line.  Awesome

I asked God how much he loved me...
He said this much...
And streched out his arms and Died.
