Sixish....
Stirring slightly against the sun creeping
toward a lid fighting the tug of wakening.
Another day...of scurry, hurry, somewhat
blurry and....

Funny, but that ticking time machine called
a heart, seems to beat faster as morn
arrives with soft white becoming harsh
bright against the straining lid.

Sitting ominously above, perched to
spring forth at any second, an alarm clock
ticks away on a short fuse  that will explode
in a clamor, reducing my brain to a scurrying mush.
Little Ben?  Another name comes
to mind, censored for the moment.

Lying quiet as a cat after the mouse,
savoring the morning wine of cool
cotton with a  final sigh before
the tonsils are scalded with a dram
or two of Juan’s finest bean.

Soon, too soon....the razor slays
the stubble of a two day binge
against humanity.  An alcoholic
splash of cologne will light the
fires, draw the extended gasp
from soapy lips looking for
a cloth....before the toothpaste
mingles....

Cool cotton snuggles...as the
mind drifts far away into another
time...before the clamor and
scald...

LOL..a man of my talent???? Barry..you have me confused with someone else....

as for the three blind mice syndrome.. I can relate... I often begin a piece and find it ends itself far from what I had orginally thought...or that it went past the things I was thinking of..

hey..that's half the fun..

(big hugggsssssssss) With having to face the harsh reality in waking up, haven't we been punished enough? (sigh) Dreaming is my favorite part of the day too, I wish I could wake and find a piece of that world hovering in my room, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
