Smooth
  with a wide surface
Light
  but with assureness
Sized
  for every hold
Flight
  ever swift and bold
Touch
  swiftly off the skin
Hopes
  not of falling in
Wait
  a time that reflects
Skip
  what no one expects
Bound
  to repeat again
Fly
  from what waters ran

Fear is a blindness, heart is the cure.   -   C. Belville 02

skipping stones are so fun. i love doing that for hours at a time. i found this extended version of your poem seemed to portray... well... a skipping stone.. in all of its grand glory. . how nice. :-)

Chris - Glad you approve.

M - It does carry a certain flow, doesn't it.

ES - Sometimes simplicity can be too much to handle.

     Thank you for the read.

beyootiful flow!

as a child, i loved stepping stones. wobbling about, secretly wanting to fall in the water.

lifes stepping stones are described beautifully here.

I liked the flow and the easy momentum,
was going to say this rocks!
But that's a little too much pun intended,
doncha think?  Nice poem, Craig~

This was good, the flow, the imagery.Brought back images of childhood when we would skip rocks down at the creek.
Very well done.

Does this ever bring back memories. By the river skipping rocks...We would count every bounce to see who did the most. Lots of fun summer memories!
