It was in the time of rain
When sands of baked season
Drink from the sky
And flowers bloom
In an overnight
Awakening.

The tent dripped on your back
And across naked skin
The droplets ran to fall warmed
On mine.

We did not venture the day
But spent it in enjoyment of
Booked verse of love
Wine from grape
And expanses of bared flesh
That teased eyes with rose flush
As exposed it grew warm
From touch

Tell me my love,
Was this oasis but for then
Or will the well spring forth
From these crumbled stones
That are now
Memories
And sand?

If I would answer
then the date palm would grow
to sway with you on days of wind
and I
would taste the fruit
of both.

Your already impressive poetry has taken on a higher inspire and its been a very cool thing to inhale.

Im still imagining your voice ...

Ron....A leaking tent never felt like this to me...must have been the wrong trip or time for me.  Another beauty!

Until this moment, I would have had a very hard time choosing my favorite from the excellence you so consistently give us. *S* But this one touches deeply... and has moved right to the front of the line! *G*

to sway with you on days of wind

I so enjoy the way you convey love and surround the emotion in detail.  I always come away in awe while holding back a tear or two.

This is so beatiful Cpat~

Uh-Huh!! I think it's about time for me and my Honey-Love to go on a camping trip like this one.

it is just  WHEW!!, Capt. Ron.

I did enjoy this one better than any of yours I've read, I think.....or maybe my imagination's running overtime tonight.....it's probably time to go to sleep now.  LOL

I've been trying to formulate this thought for 2 weeks and you wrap it up in 7 lines.
Damn, I'm impressed...
