My tongue has done it again.
My forgetful, careless tongue
has hurt my girl once more.
I love her so, yet my sharp tongue,
like a unsheathed blade caught in a storm
has opened her wound again.
O reckless thoughless tongue!
What a good it would do us
if you were removed,
if you were cut as you have cut others,
then pulverized, slashed, and burned,
the ashes scattered.
How dare you be so negligent!
Why must my mind and my heart
always behindered by your imprudence.
What a glorious day it would be
to teach you respect.
What a wonderful hour it would be
for you to show some restraint.
What a glorious day it would be
to dull your edge,
lest it ever cause hurt again.

Goodness, whatever did you say that was bad enough to cut your tongue out?? LOL (You don't have to tell me, you know. HeeHee!!)

Maybe you're like my Dad used to say I was when I was growing up....He said that I put my mouth into action before I put my brain to work. LOL I have learned a little better, but I do tend to run off at the mouth sometimes...like now. LOL

Let's just hope that your Lady is as patient and forgiving as my Honey-Love is.

Very good,Im sure that lady of yours is very patient and forgiving. and not perfect,and probally will also have a careless toungue one day as well.

She is very special to me (as you can see in that other poem I posted today "My Special girl"). I have been getting much better with keeping my mouth shut (I think).
