I have seen the silver lining
and touched the golden rim
I looked away as sunlight
slipped into her new moon skin

I pined for eternal beauty
but still, the image fades
I lock my eyes upon it
as if to trap it with my gaze

But darker souls that slumbered
now wake to place their claim
on tapestries so recently
adorned by heaven's frame
engulfed in celestial flame

"I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation."

I looked away as sunlight

=======================

what a very cool image and personification that is.
Thats an awesome couplet.
Loved the closing images as well.

Im still imagining your voice ...
can see the sparkle in your eyes.
I cant explain your power over me
Its understated understood & beautiful.

This is the first time I have read anything my you...I like the imagery of the sun sinking into the moon.

Beautifully written, one of those poems where anyone who reads it will be able to pick out a favourite phrase or couplet, for me it has to be "I looked away as sunlight
slipped into her new moon skin"

This is awesome. Makes one want to go back and read these marvelous words again. Chris

I loved this first verse so much. Here's hoping there
will be many more silver linings for you to see.
