Any teleological argument supporting the existence of god assumes the existence of god, a sentient force, as a source of order and of purpose, as the base of the argument.  As such, it is logically absurd.

Well, um, no.

Teleology does not mean tautology.  True, it's not a logical argument. It is an argument from analogy.

Does the universe look like it has purpose (telos)?

My point is that it does not.  As we understand it today, it does not show purpose and it certainly doesn't show purpose for us.  The Earth, our home, is not designed for us, we are lucky to be alive to be honest.

That's because order and purpose, as we know it in practical terms, always comes from intelligence.  This is inference to the best explanation, though not a syllogism, as Brad pointed out.

(But I've got one question, if this is about the Teleological Argument for God's existence- There's already a thread for that, so why this and not just a reply?)
