I wish I could say I was a bigger reader than I am of his work. I haven't yet read the Rabbit novels for example.  Someday.

With what little I have read, I think I can say three or four things that I did like:

1. His attention to detail

2. His sense of humor

3. His skill in multiple forms

4. His tendency to irritate other people (My original phrasal V. was censored -- these things happen )

I leave it to those more acquainted with his work to give a proper send off.

He was brilliant. I haven't read Rabbit yet, I'm sorry to admit!
May he rest in a writer's paradise.

My husband thought I had, too, read of Rabbit.

I will, now!

I had always heard of him; too late to send a letter of thanks.

Too many authors receive that message, don't they?

I always had an appreciation for "A&P," a short story that I could easily connect with due to my teenage years of living in Pensacola, Florida. Most people refer to the work as "The Bikini Story."

I was never disappointed by his work even when "disappointment" was a recurring theme in most of his pieces.

I'm grateful his pen was so prolific.
