A man decides to try and extend his life and quit smoking, walks out of the doctor's office and gets clobbered by the passing bus.  Fate or Freewill?

There are many examples of fate and freewill, I want to know what you think?  There is also an element of spirituality, meaning God knows our walk and thus freewill and fate are both out of the picture.  What do you think?

That is just bad luck.  Might as well continue smoking...

The eldest here had a story from work.  Coworker offers him a candy bar, but not before saying, 'I know these things take years off your life.'  Eldest responds with, 'Yeah, but those years come off the end of your life, and those aren't that good anyways.'

Itís not death, but dying badly most of us fear;
otherwise who would willingly go to sleep.
