I like to think of it as a marriage.

and yes, grin, "Chocolate or vanilla?"

"fudge ripple please."

A bit like 'which came first, the chicken or the egg'?
In slightly more oblique reference to the aforementioned question, I like Oscar Wilde's advice that if one cannot produce a work of art, one should at least attempt to look like a work of art.

In a way they do go together..but being more detailed about my question..or pondering should I say...

I was using the example of tv...media..and how people do what the stars do..dress like them..get their hair cut like them...and what people see on tv...some follow it like a bible..or a guide to their own life...(not me) an example of life imitateing art...

But then there is reality tv..that reflects real life or does it? because real life is not rehearsed...art imitating life...

Correct me if I am wrong..but I thought acting and drama was one of the arts? Like plays?
or musicals?

I guess. In maybe the same sense as the National Enquirer is poetry?

I'm certainly not qualified to define what is and isn't art. If all it takes is acting and drama, however, my neighbor's three-year-old daughter has got it wired big time!

If television is to be the art form in question, then no, I don't think art imitates life. Television offers too little diversity, compared to life, and even less depth. Television, I think, is a stereotype of life.

Life is art.

It's a work in progress.

neither. art is beautiful, life isnt.

You can always hear a tear in Cobain's voice, the pain going on there is always visible through his lyrics - Marilon Manson
