Has anyone ever thought how we are a slave to time?

Time controls our every moment, from the minute we are born, we begin to die, time controls if we get a job or not, if we loose that job, time controls our thoughts, time controls how many minutes we can talk on a phone, time controls life or death.

Then we worship time....we even have a Holiday to celebrate time...New Years....and we have thousands of watches on our wrists, clocks on our walls, clocks on our desk, our tvs, our cars.....

What would the world be without time?

No limits to spending time with loved ones, no limits to talking on the phones etc....

So I guess that is what heaven is for...no time..eternity...

Time is here on earth to mark our records...because everything that has a begining, also comes to an end, time is a begining and an end.

Open your eyes, open your mind, open your heart, let me come in and show you love.....~ARH

"Has anyone ever thought how we are a slave to time?"

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day.
You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town.
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

~ Pink Floyd

I don't look at it that way. We are actually slaves to our own desires or lack of desires to achieve - to accomplish goals - with the limited time we have to spend.

~ Interesting... the first thing that came to my mind as an answer was overcrowded!

The closest I've come to the experience of timelessness is when I am on the computer! What seems to have been a half hour in all reality is three or four hours! How can it be?!!!

Thanks Opeth and Denise, This thought came to me....When people say...I have to go....I wished I had more time....You know the feeling being caught up in a moment that you don't want it to end and it has to because of schedules that are regulated by time.

The secret to not being a slave to time is to make the best use of the limited time we are given. No one gets more or less time than anyone else...it is just a matter of how we manage what we have...
Ok, OK... I know you're laughing at me Micheele and Sue... So, I'm not the best at this...
Anyways... that is what I was told by a very successful person. The reason anyone would be a slave to time, is because they didn't manage it, instead allowing it to manage them. And I hope to one day remove my shackles.

Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind
And brings me to despair.

This brings to mind an article I wrote in 10th grade, for my high school paper...

It was called "What would you do with an extra hour in each day?" (or something like that)

The answer most often given?

SLEEP.

Of course I was interviewing teenagers...

Wonder what us adults would say??

time is something that has us all in its grip, true. no matter how much we have, it's never enough.

what would I do with an extra hour a day? since I rarely sleep, I guess I'd torment my best friend, Ringo, he needs that

Time is a precious comodity...and as along as we make enough time ..even a tiny fraction...to do altrusitic acts for our fellow humans...it will have been time well spent.....

Up sluggard waste time not for in the grave there will be sleep long enough!
