I hate you...
                 ...but I love you.
My world has been turned upside down.
I don't know what to do.
And I don't know where           to go...
You left and I fell apart.

You hurt me...
                 ...deep inside...
I can't hide it anymore.
I hope at least you're happy...
I feel I can't go on...

I'm surviving...
                    ...just to spite you.
I don't know what you're doing
Your actions are confusing...
I don't want to let you go...

I wrote this poem in college for a friend of mine.  She was absolutely in love with this young man, and he dumped her.  I wanted her to know I was there for her and "knew how she felt".

That's always hard on the head when one gets dumped, so to speak.
This has some well presented intense feelings in it.

Like the way you put the words all over the page...yes getting dumped can be very traumatic...especially if undesired or unexpected....James

I like the way you write, the way you've composed the verses in this one. And I can relate to it as well.

Such griefs with such men well agree,
But wherefore, wherefore fall on me ?
To be beloved is all I need,
And whom I love, I love indeed.

JamesMichael and Broken...

Thank you so much.  You are both two poets from this forum I admire very much.  For you to complement my word so wonderfully makes me feel very good about my writing.  Thank you for your kind words.

Selina
It really is such a sad time. You captured the feeling I remember so well...how universal are these thoughts? The years pass, yet it feels like yesterday.

I felt this way once, and then it was over and I was a much stronger person.

I learned from a broken heart, that HEARTS DO HEAL!

Reminds me; better to love and lose than to never love at all.
(not what you want to hear when your heart is in ten million peices huh?)

Beautiful write!
