This picture was taken in my backyard

* * *

Dew drops kiss the leaves
In the early hours of dawn
The birds begin to chatter
As they hop around the lawn

The majestic cocos palm
Attempts to reach the sky
I admire the rainbow lorikeets
On such gracious wings they fly

The garden gate stands ajar
As the tabby cat peeps through
Her tail begins to twitch
As the birds come into view

The dog pretends to sleep
But one eye is open wide
The smell of fresh ground coffee
Comes wafting out from inside

Just another lazy Sunday
In and around my home
I thought I'd put you in the picture
Via the words of this poem

* * *

"Love is a canvas,
furnished by nature
and embroidered by imagination"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Sue,
Speaking of pics - I like the new one! And hey I love your back yard almost as much as I love your writing. Excellent once again. :

Hi Sue!

I loved having your words place me in your garden.  It is a delightful place to be.  Enjoyed.

P.S.  I like the picture of you.  I've been away for awhile, so it may not be new, but I do like it and wanted you to know.

Thank you for sharing this magnificent picture. Lorikeets are so beautiful. When we visited the San Diego Zoo, my husband fed them and I have pictures of them lined up on his arm from his hand which held the food to his shoulder. Friendly little things!!

I believe that in my other replies I may have omitted commenting on your new photo!
It is like you are right there in front of me in the flesh, smiling at me each day!

Thank you for letting us join you in your lovely garden!

--and btw, the title is witty!
