Moved from a shack to a barn

As I am posed
Poised
Pen in hand
I am given to wonder
If it ought touch
The parchment at all

It seems quite pointless
Really
To even attempt
To tempt the limning
Of such exquisite sadness
From the unfortunate nib

For the quality
of such a penning
Would rest solely
On the stiff heavy stock
Of banded and black-bordered
"Mourning" paper

And the blackness of the ink

What majnu said, although I think the ink is an extension of ones self.

Sadness is a part of life's  process,  but alienating ourselves is a personal choice.  I don't mean that in a negative way wranx, it's all about our comfort zones.

Dream big, guy!

Ed... good to see you around..though the tone of this is quite sad..I do know the word you place on the paper no matter what color the ink are always worth it....

you carried this off well...tightly done and an almost conversational tone to the poem letting the reader feel as if they are just listening to the inner thoughts of someone wondering how to write the sadness inside...

Ed, with lack of saying it any better, I ditto everything Capt. Ron said above.
It is as if you let us hear your inner thoughts.
Thank you for sharing those with us.

This piece
stands on a precipice of thought
poised
like a diver,
surveying the blue-green water below,
remembering eyes...

and diving in.

Wranx, never, Ever, stop writing.
