of Depression

“The rain is staying,
or at least it appears so,
it does not matter
let it stay or let it go,
neither changes mood you know.”

The dirty smeared water took away my visions,
Pausing to wipe with recycled fast food napkins
The obscuring mud was manhandled and then removed,
With a sliding mountain nature’s power is proved,
A followed trail where many footprints walked to know
Weak with weeks of slow steady rains the trail let go.

“Cleaning does no good,
when the world is made of dirt,
not concrete and steel,
it will stay or it will go,
neither changes time you know.”

The mud caked my hair in a fresh pottery hat
By the time I got back to where all started at,
I escaped my chrysalis of wet earthen wear
Redressed as dull black butterfly kept as a spare,
Several plastic bags enclosed the previous
Capturing a moment quick and too serious.

“Leaving does no good,
where emotions in soil seeps,
distance won’t matter,
there it will never let go,
spent events will last you know.”

In hours in the trail took me back to my darkness,
To drown the night with a battle of cleanliness
Wrapped in robe soothed by a bottle of sweet white wine
Pondering the passing ticks echoing my mind,
The candle pools and ends short before end of night
So I go off to dreaming till woke by the light.

I can just imagine a trek along those trails... I know how I look after hiking with you, without the rain.
Hey enough is enough isn't it already, pretty soon we will all become moldy
