Beneath the Moon

I sat beneath a twilight moon
That paced the purple skies
In hesitance it seemed to loom
But slowly would it rise

Around its face in opal haze
A halo would unfurl
And diamond stars couldn’t pull my gaze
From this, the perfect pearl

I would confess my deep desires
And dream upon a star
But moon outshines celestial fires
That glitter from afar

Why should I then extend my reach
And soar to gleaming skies
When I can secretly beseech
The one who sees my eyes

Oh, little star, you still consume
My dreams in twinkling light
But look how lovely is the moon
That bathes my heart tonight

(smiles) Oh Elizabeth, this is gorgeous, sweet friend, the moon is truly queen of the skies and the stars are just the many blessings we count! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is celestially gorgeous, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elizabeth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

i love the night and the setting sun,it's where a lot of my work comes from, you know just bits and pieces, but the time of night and the elements that surround it are very significant, thanks for the words.

It's been a while since I've been here, but one thing hasn't changed...your poetry is still as beautiful as ever!!
