(Here is another poem from my post-Passions days, as I started writing and was in my grunge period! I am turning this into a song!)

An April Without Rain
By: Noah Eaton
2/28/00

Babies on fire
In An April Without Rain
It was like a bolt from the blue
Amalgamated with agony and flame
You can kill two birds with one stone
But leave my sister out of this game
She don't deserve this
I'd rather just take all the blame

Leave me be like a bag of bones
I've got to risk getting through this alone
The napalm summer is killing me, my legs are burning to ash
I've got to find my way home, got to get back...

Some of the last generations' leaves
Remain unadorned on the ground
And I'm just waiting for the next generation
To come round
Please let the rain come pouring down
I'm slowly dying
I've been crawling
And I can't find no bridge across this barren fjord...

Leave me be like a bag of bones
I've got to risk getting through this alone
The napalm summer is killing me, my legs are burning to ash
I've got to find my way home, got to get back...

Laughter is the best medicine,
but there is no cure for this common cold
Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh
When the sages scatter my bones
Laughter is the best medicine,
but there is no cure for this common cold
Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh
When the sages scatter my bones...

The weeping willow stands still in a canopy
Covered with arid soil and thistles
Jesus, if you're the wind that nestles the sunflowers
Then I must feel to you like some scarecrow
So I'll raise pricklepoppies
Out there in this dust bowl
And watch the vultures invade this chapel
As I walk on like some vagabond through this puppet show...

Leave me be like a bag of bones
I've got to risk getting through this alone
The napalm summer is killing me, my legs are burning to ash
I've got to find my way home, got to get back...
I've got to get back...
I've got to get back...

I can't find my way back...
I can't find my way back...
I can't find my way back...
I CAN'T FIND MY WAY BACK...

Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story

Noah, take my hand and I will fly you back home!

Loved the title!--and the poem! The words would make terrific lyrics for a song!

Loves 'n hugs,
Linda
