I am old and I am tired
I have loved,
as well as any man can love
another soul while he's alive;
never enough,
never in time,
always to know
like a mime to the blind
the feelings are lost
forever,
forever in time.

I like that~  I am reminded of a conversation I was having with my sister while speaking of my Father who was blind and engaged to woman many years ago.  It was evident that he loved her dearly, then he goes on to ask, does she look any good!  It's a fun memory to keep, and chuckle at the the irony of love.

I so enjoy your poetry icebox~

Lost, or do they in fact ferment like a fine wine to be tasted at a later date?  Exellent - sure glad you are here to share your work.

Well, I am 40...I guess some might consider that old.  I get tired too, Mr. Icebox, and there are days that I don't feel...but the feelings always return.  That is what makes us living human beings.  So, my dear, I believe that your feelings make be just sleeping and will awaken your spirit shortly.

Wonderful write!
I agree with Mysteria...those thoughts..
those feelings are still there...only getting better with age..
I know how you feel.

Love your picture too ... a true artist/poet look!
To your feelings. I am sure this situation will change ... your heart will tell you!
Very intense words I enjoyed.
Love is always on time, if you surrender to it.
Love, Margherita

Midnitesun ~ Really?  OK, I will keep looking for it. *smile*   Thank you for reading my poem.

Aenimal ~ Thank you, Sir.  I appreciate it.

BluesSerenade ~ That really made me laugh.  He needed to build some image in his mind, or check your input with the one he had made already.  It is really funny.  Thank you for sharing that here.  I am glad you enjoy my poetry; you are why I am here. *smile*

Ishmael ~ Really?  I hope you don't mind!  I did not mean to take them from you. *grin* Thank you for reading this and for your comment.

passing shadows ~ Yes, it is clear from your poetry that you do know.  It is the deep tired that sleep does not fix.  Thank you for reading and for taking time to comment.

Mysteria ~ I don't know.  Most of the time, it really feels lost.  Thank you for reading this and for your comment; you make me feel welcome here.

Ratleader ~ Yes, the memory of what is lost often is more sharp.  Thank you for reading my poem and for your comment.

Patricia ~ You are 40?  Why you are just a kid! *grin* It really is hard for me to reach my feelings.  It is like they have automatic shut-down switches on them.  Thank you for reading my poem and for taking time to comment.

Enchantress ~ I am glad life offers you that.  You like that picture?  Well, thank you for telling me.  There are almost no pictures of me; so there was not a lot of choice.  The guy who took that one laughed at me and said all I needed was a cappuccino and a bicycle to complete the look.

Thank you for reading my poem and for your comments.

Margherita ~ Well, the future is always an unknown, but I am OK this also.  I have known many feelings.  You also like this picture?  I think it is good that it is shrunk down so much that no scars show. *smile* Thank you for reading my poem and for your comment.

JamesMichael ~ You are correct.  Life is constant renewal.  Thank you!
