Your knee buckles
and lying on your back
in the middle
of the staircase
you stare at the ceiling
and you think sarcastically
'things are looking up'
and you start to laugh
but the shaking makes
your knee, twisted beneath you,
hurt that much more
and you're no longer
shaking in laughter
but in tears and in rage
and you'd curse your luck
but you can't remember
the last time you had any

I actually find comedy in that phrase -
"things are looking up"
I can see you doing just that . . .

but then shaking your head afterwards
like I do so often
wondering why . . .

watch that knee . . .
irony here Raph  . . .
xxoo

he he. i'll have that phrase in mind next time i fall over. managed to slip over only last night, admittedly too drunk to be walking, theres nothing like the harsh feeling of 2 am freezing cold pavement, and a few witnesses laughing their heads off.  cringe.
