Note-My grandmother passed away last night, and with her a part of me died.  I feel so empty now and this is why I wrote this poem.  Please make comments-good or bad I love to hear from you guys especially being a new member who could improve her poetry skills.

My best friend died yesterday
My best friend was me
She was the person I used to be
Before I became a fool
I don’t know what happened
But who I am is gone
Inside my heart there is no soul
All is lost and forgotten
The little girl that lived inside me
Is crying alone some where
Because she no longer lives inside
But out in the frigid air
I don’t know who I am anymore
I am empty
Nothing to Hide
I cant find me in my mind
Truly I am no one
The one who left her soul behind

you're not alone, sarbear. your grandmother wouldn't want you to do this to yourself. it's ok to mourn, and it's ok to hurt, so don't let hte pain steal the laughter..

In the mansion of memory
there is a hall of broken mirrors,
each shard a scattered playing card
from countless decks of shuffled imagery;
some reflections are too sharp,
too hot, too bright, too sweet
to bear without
the mellowed touch of time.
In episodes grief passes,
tears dry, time heals;
my thoughts are with you,
I wish for you the understanding
and the comfort only time can bring.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Your grandma will always love you and be with you, no matter how far away she may seem. God Bless! You'll be in my prayers.

It is a very difficult thing to loose a loved one. My grandma died last year, and the only thing I had to look to was poetry. I hope writing will help you, as it helped me. You must cherish your memories with your grandmother, and see her going as a new beginning, not an end.
