Worn and tattered
from too many winters,
the tree stands
without a prayer
of Summer rhapsody,
as Spring has shirked
its branches bare.

I cry in vain for you
girlygirl tears,
standing naked before you
stripped of pride,
without even a mere glance
or kindness from you.

Weary with rain,
the trees can delude
into dreams of rebirth
as their falling tears
still thrive beneath them
on receptive green.

This is so sad but I loved the whole poem.

into dreams of rebirth

Ironically was thinking about this today, more generally about the seasons and cycles and how eventually things change..or maybe as you say that's just delusion

I've been that man....and I've learned that if a man deserves the pronoun, he will return honesty, all that he can see and understand....and then honesty is kindness....kindness being love, and love is not just its own repayment, but an invitation for love to be returned.

Hang on to those "dreams of rebirth" and look forward to more glorious days of "Summer rhapsody"!

A wonderfully descriptive and emotional write!

Warm hugs,
Linda

Michele, I like this poem, though it is sad.

And.....speaking of delusion???
We all need hope and dreams, or we would
all be most miserable...

and, delusion....who's to say that magic isn't real....sometimes.......so, if we don't
believe....sometimes....we might miss out
on the one time it is real...

Nothing wrong with girly girl tears... if they open a soul to understanding or release the pain of the past....

nicely done Inked... I enjoyed

You do the best stuff with leaves.

Not kidding.

This is just lovely. I could see it.
