Last Night In Bangkok

I knew something was
missing in this city
until I chanced on a
lonely alley and fell
into the arms of you.
Ten days in Bangkok.
Five spent as two.
That first night when
you brushed against me,
that was when I knew,
there would be no more
lonely nights in Bangkok.
No way I could feel lonely,
in the silky arms of you.
Tonight is my last night
in Bangkok and I wish I
never had to say goodbye.
For now, I'll hold and
kiss you, for tomorrow
morning I must fly.
Ten days in Bangkok.
Five spent as two.
And though we're
still together,
I'm already
missing
you.

This is a lovely, romantic, and touching poem.  It reminds me so much of the musical Miss Saigon... and stories my father and father in law have told me of their days as soldiers in Viet Nam.  Very touching.  Wonderful words.
I look forward to reading more.

A chance encounter.  Beautifully stated.
Thank you for sharing it.

I do believe this is my absolute favorite of yours thus far.  It sure sent images to my mind (and yes, of Miss Saigon), but a Miss Saigon for so many that filled the lonliness and need of that era.  Very nicely written JM.

Thank you Bill, Selina, Midnite, icebox, Mysteria and passing shadows for the lovely responses.
When you are with someone really special to you and you discover favorite things about her you enjoy them while you can for you already know that when you part you will miss her kiss, her touch, her conversation and her smile...james
