She wove the night
Into her eyes
Letting only the pinpricks
Of stars shine on me
And I found the web of clouds
A trap for my own gaze
So that in gauze skewed fashion
I didn’t notice the contrast
Of light on black.

It turns.
Across the zenith
And constellations found their way
To familiar as I grew accustomed
To peering hard in stumble
Across the plains of day.

Always darker than I remembered
Love should be
I clung to maps trying to avoid the holes
Where gravity turned on itself
And let nothing of me escape
Yet always found the stars
In her.

Tell me Spock
How logical is this act of caring
When you know the distance
Will never be traversed?

Ron

You cannot travel some paths with a map and logic...especially when you are driving in a heart.

It is the contrast I liked most of all~
You write so nice, and never fail to hit a nerve.  Good one Cpat~

I wish I didn't understand this one quite so well.

....but it's beautifully said....

I am not sure you will find any logic in love. Maps are of know use in your navigation, only patience and time will assist you in navigating the course.  Even then you may expect a bumpy ride.

A wonderful verse you have written.

I'm a lousy co-pilot.
And Martie's reply is absolutely perfect.
You pilot with your heart, and logic lies somewhere else. (LOL, not saying anything else, I may become cosmic.)

"How logical is this act of caring..."

Logic is not involved.

An intriguing poem.  Thank you for sharing it.

me thinks you answered your own question.
You dont need Spock to tell you anything about logic or love...all you need do is read your own starlit words..this one is poetic heaven

Im still imagining your voice ...
can see the sparkle in your eyes.
I cant explain your power over me
Its understated understood & beautiful.

Love defies logic, doesn't it? *S* I liked this very much, Cap'n... your title hooked me... your poem made me glad it did. *S*

It isn't logical, isn't meant to be, friend.
But then, there is always the chance there might be a way to bridge the distance, yes?
Just takes certainty and a lot of guts.

Sorry you just reminded me of my favourite spock kirk exchange. Spock talks about the irrationilty of a certain female character and kirk looks at him and says..Spock...vulcan is the species of..rational females..or something along those lines..well i thought it was funny.

(big hugggssssssss) Logic and wisdom are two very overrated qualities, believe me when I say this, as beauty itself spawns the natural necessities! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is a deep write, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
