Listening to every heart

…a worthy dream
what words…

but, what of these words?

A nurturing mother comes into life
Not quite knowing she will welcome, then gladly
Suckle, future generations.

An engineer is born, as
Legos become his game of life.

Drifters are born, wafting
From position to job to position,
Finding themselves, even while fulfilling needs
Of those that require,
With dreams remaining in want.

Pilots seek,
Heavens…

Swimmers find depth….

Our dancers, sprung from energy,

The architect, sculpted from precision,

Archeologists dig themselves out from the past.

The dreamers, ah,
Well, they, thank God, they
Watch stars, still.

Musicians, oh so natural in song,
And painters…oh, they come knowing
Turpentine is their bloodline.

A worthy dream…who does not dream?
But these three words caught and were held in a
Will of wisp, singular blaze
Of insight…

And that is when

I thought of you,

The poet…

Who embraces
Such passion
In ink, blood-red,
All that would be dust,
If not scribed,
Then become this poet who prays, schemes, designs,
Comports, and seizes on to just this,

Their very own

Worthy dream.

Leave a memory behind you,

Leave life with
Insight
Fulfillment
Environment

Love
Intuition
Nurturing
Genealogy
Energy
Rhythm
Instincts, a
Natural
Glow

                        Think….

                                                     What makes you….

Then...leave behind a piece

Of you,

A worthy dream.

~*~

A poem for our new members...who are following a very worthy dream...Thank you, for allowing all of us, to be a part of your lives.

Karilea, this is wonderful. You know, my mother(rest her precious soul), used to say when another person would whine about somebody being just a dreamer, she would softly say, "Ah, and what would the world be without dreamers." Thanks for the memories and this excellent write. It's going into my library. hugs, Chris

Sunshine,

Great name for you. Ever since I met you that is what you have brought into my life. Your kindness and willingness to help is very refreshing to me.

Thank you so much for the poem. It is very fitting.
"Leave a memory behind you"
That is what I have seem to have done my whole life. You hit the nail right on the head. Now I am reaching back to see if I can make some of those memories a reality. Getting connected with Vicky after all these years was not just accidental. You all may uncover the passion in me yet

You are dear to my heart Sunshine.

It is a worth dream, isn't it?  I think I needed to hear that today.  When I am discouraged, I will ponder your words.  Thanks.

I really have nothing to say but "Incredible"... You make us poets look more special than we really are Really, I'm just a normal guy... Then again, I'm not normal at all! So I will

"leave behind a piece

Of [me],

A worthy dream."

Karilea....Lovely and inspiring!

remembering:

I have thrown them away
then found them again,
hidden in the wooden planks
of the board-walk
dancing in a gown of gossamer.

A dream is as diaphanous as breath,
yet as sure that it can build a castle
stone by stone of river rock
as it can whistle
from a puckered five year old.)

Truly inspiring,  the acrostic is very
appropriate for the words,  the impact
carried within the piece.

Thanx for saying so much of how I sometimes
feel about this "thing" I do with words...
