standing on a shadow's lace

Sap Structure

how do limbs
bear the weight
of winds
emotions
it could
possibly lie
and say
it does not
feel the sting
of winter
where things
are frozen
and deep below
the surface
green still flows
in warmth
of veins
no, it accepts
its fate
stripped down
to bark
standing alone
suffering in silence
bent again
waiting till
it is
surrounded by
a thick circle
of leaves

Helen, I like this. It's an interesting
and thought-provoking write.
