Listening to every heart

0 posted 2003-06-03 04:54 PM

In your heat rise
where thunder rolls
where shimmer meets horizon
and you can't breathe
for humid air

far off where the lone tree grows,
there, under it's shade
where buzzing flies escape
and the coyote rests

I will meet you there,
I will be your spirit of the wind,
caressing your skin
making the leaves whisper
lovesong
and like an invisible dust-devil
I will whirl into and around
bringing shivers to your skin
in the heat of day

you will reach
to touch me
but, ever gone,
you will smile, knowing
I am there
in spirit

Then go to the stream
and step in
I will be your water sprite
to quench your lust
and sooth your soul

where heat meets cool
and dust is washed
muscles relax
and time is well spent

in the dusk of day
look to the horizon
where the last shimmer remains
there, by the lone tree

and know,

I will be your love
if you but listen
to the wind
and hear the leaves play
lovesong

Soft, sensual...filled with bridled passion
in the heat of day....when one would think
of dozing off until.........

Excellent write KJ.  Enjoyed this.

Karilea,
====================
I will be your love

to the wind
and hear the leaves play

Well, once again you have written of wonderful things in wonderful ways.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

"I will be your love
if you but listen"

I'm not the first to be enchanted by this write, but this is an exquisite couplet.  You find such spirit and meaning in the lonesomeness of the prairie.  Ken
