Today I sang the song of you
in the palest hue,
a monochromatic blue.

Arctic winds blew in from the north,
chilling me to the bone, reminding me
that once again I'm singing alone.

How was I to know the song we sang
together would die giving birth
to our chorus of Love?

Seems the notes were all flat.
And not only that, they were
mere minor notes to your ears.

For me? it was a major crescendo,
a cacophony of turbulent emotions tossed about recklessly,
like 3rd rate rock'n roll.

Now all I can do is sit here and sing
the monochromatic blues, missing you.
Once again, I'm singing solo.

Sad feeling and strong thoughts.

I always knew you were rowdy at heart!  *smile*

You know even Pearl would sing soft blues when her heart ached.

Thank you for sharing this.

Well, hello Dreamless, welcome to Pips! Thanks for taking time to read and reply.

Ice, LOL, rowdy, huh? I've had a couple of rowdy moments. (SHH..that was a long time ago.) Yep, I've sang the blues and a little 3rd rate rock'n roll.

Love them blues and now you made me go and put on Dianna Krawl seeing you are not here to sing - hey, I didn't know you could sing?

Hey, once upon a time I was on stage, but I never felt comfortable performing unless I was loaded, and when loaded, couldn't perform very well.  LOL, I was always better off as backup harmony or messing with the equalizers, pushing the controls, or re-filling the glasses.

Beautiful solo, though sad.
