The coal walker sheds no tears of pain.
Skin blisters proudly
upon grayish, deadened ash.

A blind walk taken
in the name of faith,
yet the coals shed
smokey tears of pity
for scars formed
on sacrificial skin.

We walk upon our children
branding ignorance upon
untouched flesh.

Deafened to an obvious truth
we march on for a man-made God
damaging our children
with thinly veiled hate
parading
as hope
for final redemption.

Somewhere,
God cries
for intentions as clearly
misguided as helpless
feet on a foolishly,
pointless
walk upon coals.

This is so sad and yet true. I like this poem.

apoetdreams - they do suffer, and your words bring it out better than I have read before...

How true and what a nice write to present it!
