I stare out the window
My mind on edge
As the last light of day surrenders to night
I sip on straight bitter whiskey
to force you out of my life

There's a picture I create
a lover I need
what I'd give to hold her in these empty arms
don't wanna believe she's just a dream
a fairytale soon to be gone

(CH)
I wanna sail into the starlight
Send my soul beyond the moon
I wanna beg the angels to let her stay by my side
and let my dream come true
cause I know she's up there somewhere
where I won't have to think of you.

Got our wedding pictures
Stuffed in a dresser drawer
There's a ring on the mantle that I used to wear
wish to God I could replace you
with these dreams I have of her.

(CH)
I wanna sail into the starlight
Send my soul beyond the moon
I wanna beg the angels to let her stay by my side
and let my dream come true
cause I know she's up there somewhere
where I won't have to think of you.

Won't anybody listen to me
When I pray for her
I know she's up there somewhere
above the way we were...

(CH)
I wanna sail into the starlight
Send my soul beyond the moon
I wanna beg the angels to let her stay by my side
and let my dream come true
cause I know she's up there somewhere
where I won't have to think of you.

Beautiful song, you should publish it! I write songs too,and sing them, it's such a blessing a gift to put your emotions into words through poetry, and song...sad and touches the heart strings.I hope it is not from a true experience, but if it is, she was loved, truely loved, a great way to remember her. Some of the best songs come from our hearts!

Thank you so much J K Mitchell I appreciate that.

Parisgirl thanks for dropping in I haven't heard from you for a long time.

Hey Passing didn't set out to make you cry but am glad I was able to.....That touches me too.

Romantic heart I ahven't heard from you for a long time either. It's always great to hear from a fellow songwriter and yes it's so wonderful to put words into a song. No this is not from experience but probably from someone else's that I've observed somewhere along the line.
I appreciate the kind words.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Eric, this is so very beautifully heartbreaking, dearest friend, I hope this isn't related to your own happenings for I can only imagine many out there who truly miss their lovers and hold the memories like yesterday is today! (big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I send many angel hugs your way, I too am a songwriter and write more rock and roll and just love this song, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
