A Poet's Inspiration

The splendor that by foolish winds are tossed
Has traced it’s tender grace into my eyes
Where fragile wings and petals are embossed
By sheath of lily, rose and butterfly
And so it is the trestle that is crossed
Between the poet pen and poet eye

But wait, the sound of nature does intrude
In equal measure to the waiting ear
And there the music I have long accrued
Of songs to which my heart was so endeared
Once softly kept in memories subdued
From seeping pen, I now make them appear

Life, in itself, has rendered in my soul
A loftier dimension to it all
And from the heights into the deepest hole
I prime the pain and joy that I recall
To draw the waters up that I withhold
And paint them black and soft and magical

From heart and soul , from eye and ear and mind
From who I am, from all the roads I’ve plod
From dreams that through the valleys gently wind
And all the streams whose stepping stones I’ve trod
From places never known, but more divine
Are scrolled my verses by the hand of God

Another treasure for the chest...heartfelt and delivered in splendor. Your talent is humbling, and your vision astounds my friend.

Really a great write

"From places never known, but more divine
Are scrolled my verses by the hand of God"

ended the poem greatly.

It does not,  in any way shape or form get
much better than this....  Thank you Liz,
the masters would surely be as proud as we
for this piece of a most talented poet,
penned so well.
