My teacher kept me after school,
And sat me on the dunce’s stool,
She said, “Tim, you’re discombobulating,
And even verse, you’re annotating.
I know you’re not an oxymoron,
But your syllibic sorely wears upon
A teacher’s sanitarium,
Vocabulating my silentium,
So let us truncate now our variance,
As I engage now in a pantomance,
Cousin if you doughnut, sure as simile,
A snollygoster, some day you’ll shirley be."

If she only knew...

Nope - I'll still just be the teacher... Shirley is my sister... and she says she could NEVER be a teacher... True fact...

I love word play...can't help it!  No matter how corny, and believe me I can come up with some corny stuff.  Just ask my kids.  My older daughter asks, "Mom, what are you weird?"  The little one (she is four) laughs at my "corniness."  It is nice when they are that young; they don't see any of your faults.  My dad (when he was home) would always spout cute little word plays.  I think that is where I got my love of words.

OK...sorry, I got off track here.  I did enjoy this one!  You made me think about so much as evidenced from the above.  And no matter what anybody says...thinking is a good thing!

This is the perfect poem to open my day to. Just so funny, witty and smart. Loved it.

Make your words as sweet as honey, someday you may have to eat them.
