* * *

The sky was dark and brooding
My heart no longer beat for two
The rain concealed my tears
As I cried a river for you

You left me brokenhearted
In the depths of my despair
There was no lifeline to cling to
The one I loved no longer cared

You were my first real love
How you set my heart on fire
You were the icing on my cake
Filled with passion and desire

This love I thought to be eternal
Has been taken with the tide
My feelings mattered little
How very easily you had lied

But I shall bear no grudges
For I will find somebody new
Who will fill my life with love
And erase all memory of you

* * *

This was not written about me or
anyone else I know

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Suetang - I'm glad that you clarified these words at the end of the poem. Had me wondering you did. But I find it amazing to be able to write about sadness even though one is not...

SueTang:
I am glad this is not related to you...however I know this pain. It seems I always fall for the wrong person and get my heart broken...I wish love could just be easier but then we would not appricate it as much when it is id that were so. Take care.

Sue, I’m sure glad that this poem doesn’t reflect your actual life. Your much too nice a person to be babbling any brooks, let alone, a whole river...

I hope that the warmth in your heart, always makes your tears vanish... into thin air...

Sue, this is very beautiful,
even though it is sad. You are
an amazing writer to be able to
write so well about sadness when it
isn't about you or anyone you know.
Bravo to you, dear Lady.
Hugs
Ethel

You touched upon a universal truth here.  Well done!

Also, an excellent picture, thank you for sharing both with us.

Thank you for writing the words that have been in my heart.  I always have trouble writing them.  You have done a great job here (as always).

..."The rain concealed my tears." --This line really affected me. When I have been sad and crying and have gone for a walk in the rain, the rain has done exactly that--"concealed my tears"...

Warm hugs,
Linda
