Of shame Ye say in thy confess
within the yard of castle high.
A thought once said in thy duress
as lungs now filled expel a sigh.

Where might he be this chosen knave
who danced upon the tresses gold?
Can not he come, for thee to save,
may not this boy be once so bold?

A tear I see upon thy cheek
A rivulet of chosen fall.
Wilt not this lad again thee seek
afore the last of trumpet’s call?

Thy door to him shall be once barred
against the throes of passion’s wake.
For lashes deep of backside scarred
shall bring from him a screaming quake.

I vow to you, my chosen wench
that thee wilt not ‘gain taste his wine.
For blackbirds shall feed on the stench
of rotting flesh once chosen dine.

Though.. if thee wish to I convey
thy vow to wed and be my prize.
I wilt to you in earnest say
not once again thy ears hear lies.

A love of strong and trusted will
this woman kept of one she knew.
For on each night upon her sill
a bud was cast of roseate hue.

And on the throne a saddened face
did sit in wait until the pyre
was built to be his resting place
for he was known a kingly liar.

And then the door became ajar
upon the grasp of knightly hand.
Her love, a knight returned from war
now crowned to lead their chosen land.

As one they lived the story told
of honest words and giving heart.
Two lovers joined of tresses gold
and until death they did not part.

don't know how you do it...I think you were born too late, or maybe you were there?

Sometimes Dixie,  I think I was on both
accounts....Such a fascinating time of
history was that part.  I thoroughly enjoy
it.
