I Don't Need An Anyone

Some days I feel like giving up,
wondering if it's worth the try
when disappointments are always there
and holding back are tears to cry.

Sometimes I'm tired of being alone
yet I'd rather prove that I can be.
That I don't need an "anyone"
to make me feel less worth of me.

I'm learning fast, the truth of words
desires mask no longer hides
that time is of the essence now
no longer young, am I in strides.

Some day will come when offer I
what's mine is yours, whoever will.
For the now, I am alone
and tend to be, that way until...

M

Like how you left this open...I want to read the sequel too.

Nice mix of words for peering into the future.
Good stuff Maureen

Oh E, you think there is going to be a sequel...I doubt it.

It's left open because it will probably always remain so... I am simply too complex for most of the opposite sex...although I think of myself as simple in taste and desires and that isn't what men look for any more.(at least not in the real world)

Thank you Q, flattery will get you everywhere

Elan, I did so much for myself today, had a little help, but didn't need to ask for it and accomplished much more (on my car) than I would have ever thought possible. If I keep this up I won't ever need an "anyone" ever again.

James I am comfortable with myself, but it never hurts to share your life, if you can find that someone who is willing and able.

Hey Dixie, guess I am feeling a little on the blue side today.

Magnus, well I know I won't hold my breath because I will surely be dead by then and all that would be left of me is the body.
hmmm...but that is probably all that is wanted anyway! Thanks, Barry.

hmmmmm....I would be interested in hearing your viewpoint about what men DO want these days....

No, you're not the type to respond to "anyone"....may you find that special someone

Anne, I have been alone for more years than I really acknowledged *that denial thing* that blinds you to the truth.

I don't do well alone and so I surround myself in friendships, but that will never be the same as having a partner who cares.

And I certainly would  rather have all this happen years ago when I was younger, in better shape and more idealistic than I am today.
Thank you, Anne

Balladeer...in my opinion, from those I have met...they don't want commitment, they don't see a future, they live for today and those who have been married before always start out by saying they never want to marry again...

So I say to them, "you can pay on the streets, for what you want...I need more" (and I am quite serious)

*and it is not that I want someone to pay my way...
I have a home and will have a way to support myself*

Have I shocked you? I doubt it

"Alone," to many, can be in the presence of another and not merely without that presence.
"Alone" is an okay place to be. When "alone" turns to "lonely" we find ourselves in an unhealthy climate.

I think of a book title, "Why Do I Think I'm Nothing Without a Man"? (Or similar title) --Our first duty is to ourselves, to accept and learn to like, even love, in a healthy way, ourselves. The presence of another is almost sure to follow.

Excellent write!
Blessings!

Thanks Shirl, but I have heard it all before...and I am not unhappy or alone with myself or even lonely.

I just prefer someone to share my life and love with.

“I Don't Need An Anyone...”

or, maybe?

I Just Need The Only One (For me)

“Some days I feel like giving up,
wondering if it's worth the try”

Maureen, you know how you always find something in the last place you look. (which is obvious, but you know what I mean, right?). That’s Ok, in the way that, If you refuse to accept anything but the best, very often, you’ll get it.

“Life is what happens to you while you are planning to do something else” (not my quote).

When those times come, when we don’t feel so great about ourselves,  we have to remember, that we are not our own opinion of ourselves. I think a lot of times it is our low self esteem that makes us feel less then worthy. They say, that the better we feel about ourselves, the better chance we have of finding a relationship that is, right for us. Because, they also say, that a piece of us is in every person we can ever meet.

The trick is, (for many of us) is to really find those things about ourselves, that we can actually respect, and perhaps even, in our own way, admire.

Not always, the easiest thing, to do...

Maureen, where there is life, there is hope...

And, I hope, that in your life...

Your “Until...”

Ends up with...

“Until... I met that one person, I Always knew, was out there for me,

but was afraid, that we just might not, ever meet...

All My Best Wishes To You Maureen,

Richy

Hey thanks Richy.  If you knew me you would know that I am confident in myself. I think my problem is I don't or haven't met the kind of person that would be "right" for me and should probably just not look for anyone or accept  what another offers if it is not enough, in otherwords..I don't wish to settle for less.
Truth is very important to me. Trust is also.
Thank you for your lessons. I do appreciate your time.

Sandra, I knew you would understand.
Someday soon I hope to visit NH and my brother.
Maybe we can get in touch once I find out when and how long I will be there (that is if I can get my mother to trust me to drive us there.)

No, my friend, you don't need anyone, you need one that's right for you.
The one whose words will forever ring honest and true.
The one who gives your poetic heart all that it need.
The one who can patiently grow your love from tiny seed.

Wait for him in patience and prayer...close your eyes, and tomorrow he may be there...

Very touching, and my friend, I do know this feeling.

Sweet M,
You need an M. Then you could be M & M! But until... Well, you always have us.

Keep your heart open too for you never know when love will come your way....I know from experience that it can come to the soft of heart even though it seems to take forever....You are so deserving of a gentle love that I am sure your dream will someday become reality....**hug**
