I've always been very careful not to fall for a man who belongs to someone else.  This time my heart got the best of me.  Now I don't know where to go from here.

What was I thinking? How did I end up here?
Soon I'll be all alone, crying lonely tears.
He doesn't have a choice.  He couldn't love me if he wanted to.
His heart belongs to someone else.  There's nothing I can do.
You play the cards you're dealt.  I was dealt a sorry hand.
The jokers are all laughing.  My King's wearing a wedding band.
I should have known better.  I'm not the gambling kind.
I've already lost my heart.  Now I am loosing my mind.
I guess I get what I deserve for falling in love with her man.
I wish that I could forget, but I don't think I can.
There is something about him.  Something I just can't shake.
It's in the touch of his hand.  It's in the love we make.
He holds me in his strong arms.  Lays kisses on my cheeks.
I melt on the inside.  His lips make me weak.
I know when he leaves it is going to tear me apart.
I'll keep the memories.  He's going to take my heart.

(big hugggssssssss) This is a very heartfelt debut, dearest friend, I think it is natural to have strong feelings for someone who already loves another and I'm sure this person would be happy to accept you as a friend! In the end, the best thing is to be unselfsh but for that somebody to be your friend in return, and I hope that is the case, and fear not, you will find someone special who is free for you! Welcome to Passions, sweet Joelle, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your lovely words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joelle, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Life happens! We learn and keep on growing, no matter what. A tender and considerate heart wrote your message. The tender and considerate are the first to grow!

Happy journey!
Blessings!

I make sure that when I meet someone, if I learn they are married (happily or not), I keep a certain distance.

For one thing I wouldn't have appreciated anyone tempting my husband when we were together... which eventually happened and I wouldn't want to be accused of doing the same.
And if he is doing that to his wife, it is easier the next time to do it to you.

We do learn from our mistakes, hopefully.
Nice post and welcome.

It has been said that marriage is a fool's errand.  I think an honest relationship (honest between the participants) even if it is short, has more value than a socially licit but flawed marriage.  If he puts his hand on you and you feel his energy flow completely through your body, and if you can do the same to him, then that union of souls no matter how brief elevates us all.

When it is over, weep alone.  When he is gone, bind your wounds.  Heal and be well.

... and write more poetry.  *smile*

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you all for being so excepting.  I feel welcome here already.  This poems was about one of the worst things I have ever let myself get envolved in.  I am ashamed that it ever happened, but I am growing from it.

Thank you to you all-

Nicely written piece, Joelle!
Welcome to Pips.

This reminds me of the way I feel for a waitress friend that I love...it took me a long time to ask her if she was married even though the wedding ring was right there on her finger for everyone to see.  I just loved talking to her and flirting with her...all rather innocent...we never meet outside the restauant...and she is friendly with everyone...the beauty of her is that she is such a loving person and so faithful to her husband and family...if she wasn't I wouldn't admire and respect her the way I do...James
