Outside a Shadows Fall

I stepped outside a shadows fall
Into the light of day
And heard the bells that toll and call
And listened what they say

They sang to me in beauties rhyme
A lullaby of send
They sang to me of fleeting time
Of passage to the end

The sky was full of colored chalk
The air with due with damp
A rainbow offered me a walk
To heaven on its ramp

My senses touched the fleeting light
A sight beyond compare
I closed my eyes and felt the bright
And made a wish of dare

God grant me rest this feathered nest
For I have done my very best.

My dear Seymour, this is so very beautiful.
I especially loved this part.....

The sky was full of colored chalk
The air with due with damp
A rainbow offered me a walk
To heaven on its ramp

My senses touched the fleeting light
A sight beyond compare
I closed my eyes and felt the bright
And made a wish of dare

God grant me rest this feathered nest
For I have done my very best.

What a peaceful lullaby.  I think I shall call this to mind when I am having one of my sleepless nights.  Beautiful, as always.

Seymour~
I'm a sucker for a GREAT TITLE~
This one beckoned me in ...
adored the read~

As a fact of matter I think the title is a poem within itself~
