He sits, gaunt and starving
We observe the hurting in his eyes
And the tears slowly descend down his face
With his cry’s piercing the silent air
All for religions fighting for their so called rights
Parents depart their homes to battle for their religious conviction
This young child not knowing what to say or do
Shaking with fright and confusion he waits for there return
As daylight hours die and hours of darkness comes alive
No parent returns, so lost in his own home this child is now orphaned
Sounds of explosions in the distance sever through the night’s cold air
The child puts hands to ears to drown out this thunderous blast
The youngster shudders with fright, all alone and afraid for his life
He runs and cowers in the corner of this lonely darkened room
He rocks back and forth staring into a cold black abyss
No one returns he is left alone to die
He is not to blame for this terrible feud between religions
A warfare, which should never be
A war, which has to say no more

Yes, you write the truth and it's so sad.
Many points well taken. The children regardless of race or color are innocent, unsuspecting little humans seeking guidance and love.
Religion can be the opium of the people, distorting emotions to the extent of violence.
Who was it that decided that thou shalt not kill should be ignored.
Interesting write.

this is so sad and what is so bad about it is how true it is

Real friends celebrate in who we are and have faith in all that we can become
Lots of Love

So very true. Even though this poem was a sad one, I still enjoyed it.
