That I have fallen into vertical A test to find me upright Spreading into all the corners of the toast Sweet jam Thinned, expanded…transparent Unaltered in the pressing of life’s dull knife That he is the richness of the worthwhile day Substance to flesh, fire to flame Litmus telltale of the touch upon his heart Pinked Tanned, mystical…confounding me Unfettered spirit misshapen, rescind on wind Yet not the ego of the demon prince A lily, once deposed and fondled Open to the touch of honest warmth Awakening Sensual, alluring…simmered to sweet sauce Grapes to wine, bouquet of everlasting fasting That joy in reclamation of the effervescent A trembled dream gloved white and weary Sorrow’s vestment stripped away The Lion Heart Copyright Kkh 5/29/03 |
