Soon, propitiously
It will fade into not quite
Real or remembered.
My eyes won't see
Your hair tousled by wind
Inviting my touch.
And arms won't reach
To fold around you
Directing their own destiny.
I won't breathe you
Into my being -
Breath will simply be for air.
These lips will forget
The feel of gasp
And legs will stop trembling.
This curl of need
Rising from my depths
Will surely subside.
I'll let go these memories
Inevitably, certainly
Within the next century.

It appears those wonderful memories will be retained, if not clearly in your mind, they may forever be imprinted clearly on a cellular memory level.

Silky smooth remembrances worth remembering.

May you be making new wonderful memories...

Lovin' hugs,
Linda

May this wonderful NOW always be available .... in memory, eternally imprinted. Well, a century is a century .... but eternity is a MUST for the imprinting you speak so charmingly of!

Yep, sweet Suthern Lady...
I caught this last part.

I'll let go these memories
Inevitably, certainly
Within the next century.

But, the good pnes like this need to be kept
and cherished...especially the ones that
make out legs tremble....

A very good write, dear friend
Hugs,
Ethel

I have a hunch
you didn't write this on
12/31/00...

Some things
could take
that long...

Laura, this is the sweetest and most intensely moving poem I've seen from your pen.

You've been shy about doing free verse, but you obviously have a talent for it. I hope you do more, just like this.

....say hi to Ruth....I look forward to her rhymed verse too...

so when ya gonna teach a moth how to not feel the need? me thinks I was absent on the day they taught that heart lesson.
powerful angsty write Ruth...I was so into the emotions of your words that I didnt realize they werent written in your usual gifted rhymes...
trust me...free verse looks real good on your pen

HAH!! Not likely...

If somehow you fall in an ice chasm and are frozen for three hundred years at which point someone finds you and the futuristic medical science thaws you out and returns you to life, your first words will be, "Where's Toe?"

....and you KNOW it!!!

(kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ratleader: LOL... Howz about I go to the blackboard and scribble "Ratleader was right" 100 times? *G* But I'll have to add at least twice that many "thank you"s... for I truly do. *S*

Jamie: Thank you very much. *S*

Balladeer: ROFL... but, of course... after all, I'd think it was only tomorrow! LOL And tomorrow wouldn't be worth having without him. *G*

nakdthoughts: Both laughs and smiles are good... glad you found them. *S* Thank you!

M'toe: You're right. *S* As long as we're still kicking, we still have opportunities to add more memories... some may be even more special. *S* Thank you!

PS: Thank you ma'am! *S*

Nan: Absolutely! *S* Thank you very much!

Duncan: ROFL - So much for that pensive mood, right? LOL Thank you very much... glad you like! *S*

Martie: Not you, too! LOL I'm bone lazy yanno. LOL Thank you so much... such praise from a master poet is encouraging and much appreciated. *S*
