~*~

Sitting in a field of daisies
Spotting first robin of Spring
Holding the hand of a loved one
Hearing the church bells ring

The air when snow is melting
The scent of morning brew
The taste of Mom's home cooking
The warmth of hearty stew

The purity of a lily
The grace of stately elm
The fragrance of sweet roses
The joys of fairy realm

The haunting call of loon bird
The cry of eagle's flight
The hooting of an owl
Echoing through the night

Lights of fireflies glowing
Crickets chirping their song
Frogs with throaty voices
Full moon shining down

The joy of the first snowfall
The sighting of a deer
The spotting of a shooting star
Last day of school year

Hearing words, "I love you"
The view from mountain crest
The sound of children laughing
The relief at passing test

Snuggling under comforter
As storm shakes windowpanes
Cozying with your lover
Listening to pelting rains

Your family gathered together
And friends whom you hold dear
Hugs from those who love you
All sharing in good cheer

Watching the rise and setting
Of the glorious ball of light
Rising at dawning of new day
And sinking with coming night

Drinking a cool glass of water
On a sweltering summer's day
Lying on beach in the sunshine
Soaking up sunny rays.

Gazing at stars with your sweetheart
The excitement of that first kiss
The anticipation of what lie before you
The wonder, the joy and the bliss

Sitting in a field of daisies
Spotting first robin of Spring
Holding the hand of a loved one
Hearing the church bells ring

A simple smile, that manges to sneak in your heart and light it up for days... or years.

Brushing my daughters hair,
and painting her toenails.

That's odd isn't it??

The simple pleasure of having her near, of sharing these very simple things, brings me a sense of peace.

watching the sun rise.. and the sunset..Especially with someone you love.

Finding the shapes in the clouds with a friend.

Listening to someone read you a story.

The smell of freshly cut grass.

Waking up to the smell of breakfast and the singing.

Cocoa with marshmallows by the fire on a snowy day.

oh, and... shopping!

ooh ooh.. andddd

Hearing your favorite song on the radio.

And lemonade with an umbrella in the glass, in the summer.

And really fluffy pillows!

And getting a letter (not an official statement) in the mail, unexpected.

And hearing from a friend you haven't heard from forever.

And finding money that you forgot you lost.

And snow on Christmas.

Making Snowangels in the snow.. or the sand!

And looking through old, happy, photo albums.

This is fun! Ah life is good
Always, Alyssa

Hearing my daughter's voice on the phone
after so long a time.....
.
.
Hearing my Gary's voice...
Seeing the twinkle and love in his eyes when he looks at me....
(and so much more I just won't say)
.
.
Having my little doggy look at me so sweet
and trusting
.
.
the beautiful sunset and sunrise and sunshine and rain
.
.
Sweet Lady they just keep coming to my mind, but if I keep writing I'll have too many here. LOL

How about eating chocolate (dairy milk.)
And drinking some of that new vanilla coca cola.
And Mint Choc Chip ice-cream with chocolate flake.
Ohh! and who could forget having children watching them play in the garden (yard)

The haunting call of loon bird huh?

I might be able to help you with that one???

EEeeeWwaaahhh!! EEeeeWwaaahhh!!!

No?

Wait...

Oh, I though you said Goon?

Well anyway...

Linda, this was such a great poem

I think our styles are pretty similar,

The only difference being, your poems are so much better then mine!

I especially liked these verses:

Snuggling under comforter
As storm shakes windowpanes
Cozying with your lover
Listening to pelting rains

Drinking a cool glass of water
On a sweltering summer's day
Lying on beach in the sunshine
Soaking up sunny rays.

Your family gathered together
And friends whom you hold dear
Hugs from those who love you
All sharing in good cheer

Gazing at stars with your sweetheart
The excitement of that first kiss
The anticipation of what lie before you
The wonder, the joy and the bliss

Very, very nice!

Great and wonderful write Linda!

Getting back into a warm bed when out for a minute you had to get.
The smell of baking bread all warm and with butter spread.
My puppy dogs face when he sleeps all cute and squished.
Feeling my baby kick from inside when all day I have missed.
The sound of thunder and watching lightning when a big storm is under way.
Seeing my loved one standing there on our wedding day.

Wonderful piece
There are so many beautiful things in this world that we all should be thankful for
