Often I sit, no plan in sight
as flames softly flicker the wall.
Wondering, pondering a write
of what, mayhaps  might I recall.

As steel rails sing and dance the curve
before the ball has come to close.
Or rugged wheels  that roll and swerve
on dirt roads to wherever chose.

Fail me not upon  sheltered night
when faeries dance the beam of moon
As children play and sail in flight
to lands afar on silver spoon.

Ponder I may, wonder I will
within the mind of poet’s glean.
As crackles damp the fog and chill
across a land now quiet, serene.

I beg of you my chosen muse
to feed the craw of waiting word.
I shall not banish or refuse,
is I who speak, who you have heard.

As hearts will beat against the wall
of chest in sigh of waiting love.
On mountain high will echoes fall
before the flight of whitest dove.

Ahh Muse, I beg of thee a thought
that I might use to feed the quill.
What Muse,  has thy word then wrought
that I might hear the whip-o-will?

If but a dream, a fantasy
would come to eyes in sprinkled close.
Would not this scheme, so sacredly
be seen but once ‘pon snip thy rose?

Alas my friend of lonely cast
I fell fair short the target quest.
I will retire, the hour is past,
we gave our all, our ragged best.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Barry, this is beautiful, sweet friend, you seem to be far more than acquainted with your muse, you can touch so many muses and interview them all as you keep them on the hot seat! (sigh) Love your style so much, dearest friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

My muse seems to be speaking in a language only alien beings from outerspace could understand !! I can't seem to put pen to paper lately at all. You dear sir, on the other hand, make words flow so simply and gracefully. Lovely Barry. hugs, Chris

Oh Barry, if only I could write my thoughts the way
you can yours. You can write on any subject
you decide to, and it's all beautiful.
Hugs to you,
Ethel

Thanx bunches...I know this poem seems to
jump through different themes,  but...guess
what?  Intentional....  I did this to make
it seem as though I were coming up with all
of these verses...sorta consciously and at
the same time,  here I am sitting there
begging my muse to lend me a hand....So,
there ya have the rest of the story!!!

And Walter Cronkite walks off the stage
as the camera pans to a box of Hershey Kisses lying on the floor....sheesh!

Mr. Magnus,

Ahh...I know this all too well. I am starting to see life through a poet's eyes...I see so much more in the way of  beauty and blessings. Sometimes I even have so many emotions and thoughts running around in my head I can't seem to catch one for long enough to write.

It is a beautiful world of which I have returned.  And your inspiration and kind words add even more to the beauty.

Thanks,
-Patricia
