Circling Existence, a Trilogy

The Beginning, Chapter I

It was there, on another plane
in another life
in someone else’s dream
somewhere amid star shine and moon’s beam

loved a life anew
loved another, too
there, on the other plane

Memories trickle in
between night dream and reality
where there lies the line
black/white, lust/love
so close, so far
there, on another plane

lived another life anew
loved others too
there, on that other plane

Seafoam memories

red-orange china memories

fling me far away to sea

there, on the other plane

Perhaps an ancient bird was I
as in dream state I often fly,
under power of my own
there, on the other plane

Is it just a wanton dream,
of people/beings I only want to be
or is it something I should see
there, on the other plane…

The Middle, Chapter II

I saw her
on the Nile
her beauty foretold
her reign in gold…

my death was unnoticed
my arrival was unnoticed…

I was there
I watched Him walk
before the world knew
what He would do…

my death was better
my arrival was unnoticed…

I suffered mightily
for the Peace
that wouldn’t come
King’s Lords over rode
I was overcome…

my death now searched
at the place of this birth…

I spoke to Napoleon
before Josephine arrived
he was so alive
his passions wouldn’t survive…

of a passing no record
my life of little worth…

only woman, only husband
to listen to the hoof beats
to run from tyranny
to explore new lands…retreat…

we found a new world
She had a light in her hand…

I tilled ground
fought for the right to live
beside the red American
who held my babe…

you can still see my cross
over my grave…

today I wonder
when all things foreign seem right
deep in night’s night
in the absence of light

When did I begin?
When will I really end…

The End, Chapter III

It is today
Swirling around me
I touch all things
All things touch me

Everyone has a twin
Where is mine…
Out there
Somewhere

There, on the other plane

Does she look at herself
And think of me?
What does her heart see?
Are we a repeat of history?

Have I done things not yet imagined?
Did I impact your life?
Am I but another's dream?

Is there an opening to this plane
One to step through
Knowledgably?

And if I touched it
Would it shimmer?

Am I a better person on the other side?

Am I despised there?

Do I cry?

It was there, on another plane
in another life
in someone else’s dream
somewhere amid star shine and moon’s beam

today I wonder
when all things foreign seem right
deep in night’s night
in absence of light

today, I will wonder of me there, on the other plane…in the real reality…

there,
go I.

This made me smile HUGE smiles. I'm not quite sure if I interpreted it correctly, but if I did, I was just trying to convey this same problematic theory of time and reincarnation to another poet here at Pip.

Now you've done gone and started up the brain again...

and I'd sworn off that thinking stuff too!

Enjoyed this, even if it left me a million miles away in me mind.

I agree with Ser..left me many miles away..
somewhere in time..
reminded me of the book "Many Lives, Many Masters", among others..
Oh yes...I did enjoy this immensely.
Thank you for the keeper lovely lady.

I like.
